One of the easiest ways to greatly reduce your Energy Bill is to change all of the light bulbs in your home to the compact fluorescent light bulbs. They use a low wattage but produce the same light as a much higher watt light bulb. These types of light bulbs use approximately 75. This is a very substantial amount of money that you have to pay each month. Purchasing inexpensive pipe insulation will save much of the hot water loss, especially in wintertime. By also insulating the cold water lines underneath the sinks and as much of your home as you possibly can will also help keep your water lines from freezing during cold weather.

Using carpeting with a pad underneath will greatly reduce the Energy Bill each month. Carpets help trap the heat in during the winter, and during the summer it helps keep the cool air in. You can check around your city or town to find some great deals on carpet, or you can go online to find some great deals. Using carpets or full room rugs will hold enough heat and air conditioning in that you can keep the thermostat turn down and that will save you money each month.

Turning the thermostat down to 68 degrees will save you a bundle of money every month as well. This will save 5% off your Energy Bill. When you go out and no one is going to be home, you should turn the thermostat even lower but not so low that it will be too cold. By using electric blankets and heating pads will help keep you warm at night and they use less electricity than running your heater all night long.
