Water heater has been a must appliance for lots of years now. The main problem with conventional water heater is that, they required constant heating to keep the water warm in its tank. One of the modern marvels is the tankless heater. Tankless heater, as the name suggested, does not require a tank to hold the water. Instead tankless heater heats the water while it is flowing through the pipe. So, no need to fill a tank full of water and keep it warm all day. Storage tank based water heaters, or traditional tank water heaters, keep the water warm in the tank all the time. In most situations, especially for residential usgae, we do not need the hot water constantly in the entire day. If we use tank water heater, this is a big waste. And it is not consistent with our modern Green life style, in which we should keep our carbon footprint as little as possible.
There are many different types of tankless water heater. A traditional tankless water heater can supply two or three gallons of hot water per minute. Gas based tankless water heaters usually perform better than electric tankless water heaters. The size of tankless water heaters also are different in a great way. There are the small ones which are used for minimal water heating requirement. If a home requires multipurpose water heating, then a larger size with more capacity should be installed and the result can be achieved if one can install several small tankless water heaters in parallel, although the selection of a single large water heater would be the right choice. For commercial usgae, there are some commercial model available in the market. some of them can supply upto 200 to 250 Gallons hot water per minute.
Tankless water heater is efficient even during excessive hot water demand. Unlike normal heaters, it saves more energy when lots of water is heated. If a different water heater is installed for every water outlet, the efficiency of tankless water heater can be multiplied.
