A Brief Overview of Electric Heaters by agarwal-enterprises
With the onset of industrial revolution, people got better access to more products and services. Let's discuss a bit about the various types of electric heaters. These include space heaters, radiative heaters, convection heaters, fan heaters, storage heating, domestic electrical under floor heaters, heat pumps, water heating etc. We shall be trying to know a bit more about these as well.
Space heaters are usually put into use according to the prevailing physical environment. Again, radiative heaters contain a heating element that reaches a high temperature. The heating element is usually packed inside a glass envelope resembling a light bulb. Again, there is a reflector behind it as well. The entire process is done through the reflector.
In a convection heater, the heating element heats the air next to it by the process of convection. These usually operate silently and have a lower risk of ignition hazard in case they make unintended contact. A fan heater is also known as forced convection heater, includes an electric fan to speed up the airflow. This reduces the thermal resistance between the heating element and the surroundings faster than passive convection, allowing heat to be transferred quickly.
Storage heating systems are usually cheap and take advantage of cheaper electricity forces. Again, there exists domestic electrical under floor heaters. These are also known as radiant heating systems. The heater usually placed beneath the floor heats up the surrounding and adjacent air, rendering the surroundings hot. Further, there are heat pumps, which use an electrically driven compressor to operate a refrigeration cycle that extracts heat energy from outdoor air.
